Jai Hackl is an Australian sculptor and metal fabricator specialising in large-scale public sculpture, architectural art and private commissions. Working from Newcastle, Australia and Reno, Nevada, USA, Jai develops sculptural ideas through 3D design and fabrication, with international delivery and installation arranged for each project.

How did Jai become a sculptor?

Jai grew up in Martinsville, near Newcastle in New South Wales. He trained as a fitter and machinist and learned welding in the mining industry before moving into welding and fabrication. Studying 3D modelling gave Jai a way to develop designs before taking them into the workshop.
